“During my first years as a REALTOR®, my goal was never to pass on an opportunity, because you never know where it might lead. For example, a week before Christmas 2010, I had an Internet lead with a potential buyer. The client was interested in a short sale listed for $65,000. The temperature was hovering around freezing, there was snow on the ground, and I still had Christmas shopping to do. Not wanting to miss a chance to meet a new client, I agreed to show the house. He did not purchase the condo, but shortly after the client got a new job with a sizable promotion. In the spring, he closed on a home for $140,000 — over double the price of the initial property he inquired about.”
